Eating

Cheap Buffets:

We have signed up at for all of the casino's club cards. The cards give some discount, usually $1 at their buffet. Some casinos have an extra amount if you are a senior (over 55).

There are $'s off coupons in the newspaper most days and several of the Mags have coupons in them. We have so many 2 for 1 coupons that we can't use them all. One place, The Cannery, gives you another 2 for 1 coupon every time you eat there and give them a 2 for 1 coupon. You could never eat there at full price! Also, you can't cook at home as cheap as eating at these buffets. And, you have the choice of eating healthy food at the buffets-steamed vegetables, fresh green salad, fruit. Of course, you can eat unhealthy too-chocolate cake, bread pudding, cannolis, ice cream.

All prices quoted are as of fall, 2008 for "club members" and seniors.

Remember to tip at the price before your discounts. Waiting tables in Las Vegas is not the best job on the planet! We tip $1 pp which is not included in prices below

STATIONS casinos usually have some coupons. During December, they have had 2 for 1 coupons in the paper almost every day for all Station Casinos-a real deal.

Silverton has had 2 for 1 on all meals for the month of December without a coupon.

A FEW DOLLARS MORE BUFFETS:

At the 1/2 price ticket booth, you can buy a coupon for PARIS buffet. You can save $3 0r $4 dollars.

ALL AMERICAN CHOW:

Our favorite pizza in METRO PIZZA. We think the pizza class held once a month is a great deal. It is $22 but with a coupon only $16. You get Appetizers, pizza buffet, desert, beer, wine or soda.

Our favorite burger joint is IN & OUT BURGER.

Our favorite sub shop in CAPRIOTTI'S. It has several locations and we get a Turkey special with Cole slaw?

On East Fremont Street is Uncle Joe's a shop with $2 Pizza slices -thin crust

At one of the small casinos on Fremont Street, they have $1.00 Nathan's hot dogs and two French Fried OREOS for $1. Also, french fried TWINKIES.

Cici's pizza $7. No waiting, unlike most buffets.

GROCERY STORES:

We like the prepared food at Whole Foods.

We like the prepared frozen foods at Trader Joe's. Their cheeses are cheaper than Whole Foods.

Sunflower Markets have the best Meatballs to take home and cook in a skillet. Also, they have good fresh vegetables-asparagus, green beans.

"99 Cents Only" stores have all sorts of groceries and especially inexpensive produce like grapes, apples and bananas.

At a meat market on Horizion Ridge Road, we get 1/4 pound, fresh-made, hot dogs at $5 per pound.

We buy a lot of our regular groceries and staples at WALMART because you can't beat their prices.

Our Routine is generally to eat:

Light breakfast - DAC has Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage & Cheese muffin (only 200 calories); NKO has Trader Joe's brand English Muffin or yogurt or toast.

Buffet Lunch at different casinos that offer 2 or 1 deals.

Lighter Supper at home-soup, salad, steamed vegatables, and maybe a meat/starch combo if we didn't eat enough at the lunch buffet.
